EU Trip '11 LON

Europe trip 2011
Accompanied by suzana Amelia n Zarina
After so many research, discussion, SMSes, eye-straining forms filling, and of course saving some money, we manage to grab ourselves tickets to our first Europe vacation. Phew~!!

The leg of this tour starts from Tokyo to London to Amsterdam to Brussels to Rome to Florence to Venice to Milan to Nice to Monaco to Barcelona to Paris and end back to where it started, Tokyo. So, let's get into what happened throughout put journey shall we?

25th February 2011

After 12 hours of flight, with Briani as our tummy fillers provided by British airways, we finally arrived at heathrow airport!
;)
We hop on the heathrow express straight to paddington station and change to circle line and stop at bayswater station, the station which was quite near to the Malaysian student department where we lodge in for the entire 4 days and 3 nights in London. From there once again we get onto the train together with out dearest ex-schoolmate, Raje to university of centre London to watch a theatre show done by Malaysian students in London entitled "class of '69"

The theatre wasn't the thing that excite me that much, but the chance to meet ol mate of Georgians back in 2002-2004, Michelle (who proudly went to Oxford uni =.=) and Jason (who kindly bought the show tickets for us). It did made me reminisce those geek days of mine back in Seremban, those anti-social days of mine (according to my late dad), so many multi-racial friends I made during those years. Off which I might say the school was the real 1Malaysia. My deskmate was an Indian girl, named Sethu, Michelle was one of my project mate etc. I regret not being able to mingle more with other friends from the other classes. Well, i was anti-social wasn't I? Sigh~

Michelle, me n Jason.
Anyhow, let's skip those stories and jump back on the London story. On the 2nd day, in the morning, Que came by to MSD and joined us for yummilicious meal of NASi LEMAK people!!! Aaaa~ and not to forget roti canai, curry puff etc. Pure Malaysian breakfast delight! Then, despite the drizzle Que showed us the way to Oxford Street while she took the other way for work.

So at the 3 stories of Topshop store, we met Raje again wandering around from shop to other shop at the famous Oxford street. Goodness! Shopping heaven I must admit! So much cheaper compared to the prices back in Malaysia and Japan. If only money doesn't have any limit! And of course, I've got
to meet another old friend of mine, my playmate back in the kindergarten years, the pretty Emey. And the shopping journey continues to the cheap and big store of Primark, Selfridges, Harrods.

Emey n me!
At night we went to fulfill our tummy again at the Tinseltown with Que joining us again after work. Halal steak, burgers, chicken are served here! You have no idea how I miss having chicken
or beef or mutton in western style! There are no way we can find it anywhere in Japan. :( oh, and thanks Que for the treat! Muah!

Third day, is the day we went to the Bicester Village, an outlet, another shopping paradise! ;) this time joined by Raje and her two other friends, Aida and Ayu. And once gain, designer items at very pretty price! With extra discounts and stuff, I don't know what would happened if I do got to live in London! Hihi~ and everyone got something to bring back home. Happy faces shone on everyone's faces.

From bicester we went back to London and satisfy our grumbled tummy with the anticipated Nando's chicken! Me, Zarina and gent shared the set of one whole chicken with 4 sides and one drink which cost less than 8 pounds per person. INSANELY cheap! For a country with such a high GDP per year, and VAT at 25%.. It's totally something I have something to respect at. Living in Tokyo, dining out usually would cost around 1000-1500¥. So comparing that to London, I guess it's still considered cheap.

At night we visited the infamous London's Eye and London Bridge though it was freezing cold since it was raining. So the activity was none other than cam-whoring~ haha,

The next day, first stop, Madamme Tussauds, the wax museum. Where we got to meet the charming twilight hero, classic beauty Marilyn Monroe, the most sought bachelor (not anymore) Prince William and his brother Prince Harry, the sexy Angelina Jolie and much more! The recreation of these popular people are so surreal! If only they can move! Hihi~ and in the museum we got to watch the 4D show as well. It was so cool! but still can't top of the 4D show at the Universal Studio Singapore that I went last year. :)

Then taking the tube again, we went for a sightseeing at the Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. The only downside when we were in London was the RAIN! Since it was the time for season's transition from winter to spring, raining on and off all the time. And rain cause us to be hungry right....?? So as for lunch, we opted for halal KFC! ;) -wide grin-
But the KFC still can't top the Malaysian KFC. =.= Malaysian KFC is still the best! Even one of my Japanese lecturer back in Malaysia admitted that Malaysian KFC tasted better than the Japanese KFC. If only there are halal KFC in other country that I can taste on!

next on queue: Amsterdam!
