3 days and 27 days in counting

3 days for balik kampong, and 27 days to this year's most anticipated event!
a lots of things has come into my mind lately. particularly where this year should or would hold for me. I've been watching this series named "being Erica". I'm absorbed! it's about this girl named Erica who has been facing so many failures in her life, be it her love life, her career, family.
then came along this therapist named Dr. Tom who actually offers to help her out with her problems in life. So, she was asked to write all the regrets she has faced throughout her life and helped her fixing all her regrets by bringing her back to the past and fix all her regrets. throughout the series, she go through her real life while fixing all the mistakes she made in between. These back to the past thing made her mature, composed and change her view regarding life. of which changed mine too., a lil bit.
In the last episode from the Season 2 , when she confronted her thesis advisor regarding her thesis proposal, her Professor yelled at her saying this:
"Why are you exactly are you in this Master's program?"
"It's your thesis, it's your degree, your LIFE!"
"What do you want to be in your life?"
"you follow your heart, Erica. Don't let anyone try to stop you"
of which of course somewhat fired right to my face too. A LOT. even i still haven't pick my thesis and research yet.
This series really something anyone can relate to. And also learn something from it. As it involves therapy and stuff, there are a lot of questions to be answered by the audience themselves. the path we chose contribute to the fate we face in the future. in one of the episode she went to the past and to the future to see the different fate she would have if she stayed at this company and would be rich. Erica got to see how envy and money caused supposed-best-friend-in-the-future turned to her own enemy. And her once enemy be her good friend in the end. And her once always helpful colleague turned into a backstabber and betray her boss.
her journey to the past and fix the regrets changed her perspective about her brother and her father. she got to see the other sides of a person and realize amazing stuffs and also the dirty side of a person. you know, when something happened between you and anyone else, things just wont turned out the same as it was, right?
when you encounter barriers, don't let it stays there and sprout negativity. instead jump over them and create better version of yourself.
it taught us to be brave and our own principles and point of view. Stand for your rights, and not to succumb. however one must respect other's too and try to be in other people's shoes to think he act or think that way. And also not to forget, one should judge ones own deed before one wants to counsel others.
He that never changes his opinions, never corrects his mistakes, will never be wiser on the morrow than he is today. (Tryon Edwards)

Hi Farra, very interesting posting.
You just follow your dreams.
May the wind always be at your back, and the sun upon your face, and the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.

Go for it, Farra.....

I have a lady friend, and right now, she's flying off to another country to do her finals for her P.hd.
She is leaving behind 3 very small kids and hubby...her sacrifice today for a future tomorrow.
And I can imagine how tough it is to leave family behind....

So Farra, you go, aim for the stars.
Best wishes.
Lee.
