3. u are not having any free sex, not a bi, not having multi partner.
4. no history of jaundice, hepatitis A,B,C.

6. you've got your lunch or breakfast

i've done my part today! my FIRST blood donation!

it was so-so. itsy-bitsy pain when the needle is put into your skin. but 3 times painful than the normal blood draw in the medical checkup. but still bearable.
huhu.

so, let's begin MY journey today's special mission! (>.<)" these are the procedures u need to follow for this mission.

• first, we filled out a form and a card.
• then, the officer will prick your finger with some sort of needle (like the ones used to check your sugar content in your blood) to check your blood type. mine was and "O"! meaning, i'm the universal blood donor! haha,
• next, the officer would ask u a few questions regarding your health state, your weight, check your blood pressure
• you'll be put onto rest for ten minutes
• and YOSH~! this BIG needle connected to the blood bag will be put into your skin, and blood will flow freely into the bag~~
• when the bag is full, they'll stop the blood flow, and clip the bag. (oh, one bag is 150 ml)
  
• next, they'll take some blood for hepatitis, HIV tests.
• another 10 minutes of rest.
• next will be MILO time! hahaha, they served us MILO today. it was GOOD WARM SOOTHING MILO~ hehehehe..

while having your MILO, you can have them with the biscuits they give you. then you can do chit chatting with other donors while munching~~ hehe.

my blood!

and yes, you'll be receiving a cert, 2 types of supplement. one is ferrous fumarate, and the other is folic acud, to help you recover after a blood loss.

the person in charge told me that it wont take long, but mine lasted more than half an hour. since the thing they used for taking your blood pressure went loose and my blood stop going out to the bag. so it took a little longer for me. other would finish in 15-20 minutes.


this is the look of the needle. it's slightly smaller than your ipod cable. =)


overall, it was a great experience. i never thought that it could actually makes you feel good about yourself. i mean, it's a way to help others, and contributing to the country, after what they've done to us. i mean there are people out there who sell their blood for money, but i guess, it's their rights to do so.
